Overview
A postwar card game every local memorises; its 44 illustrated cards are effectively Gunma's tourist map.
About this place
Jomo Karuta is a local karuta card game whose first edition was published by the Gunma Cultural Association in December 1947. It has 44 cards in all, and covers the history, nature, people and industries of Gunma Prefecture, which was anciently called Kozuke (Jomo). Under an agreement concluded on 28 October 2013, the Gunma Prefectural Government acquired the copyright, and since then the prefecture has managed the copyright and trademark rights.
