About this place
The Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art is a museum in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. Its operator is Hokkaido. The building was designed by Tagami Yoshiya, an architect representing Hokkaido. It collects and exhibits works by artists connected with northern Hokkaido and, in keeping with Asahikawa as a town of timber, traditional wood crafts, contemporary wood sculpture and woodcraft. It also holds special exhibitions of outstanding works from Japan and abroad. 1982 (Showa 57) - Opened
