A museum devoted to Kotaro Migishi
Migishi Kotaro was born in Sapporo in 1903 and died in 1934 at the age of 31. To convey his work, the museum collects and preserves his works and related materials, exhibits them and carries out research. By focusing on a single artist, it allows visitors to think continuously about the changes in his expression from his early years to his last.

His works include figures, clowns, butterflies and shells, and in his last years there is also expression close to Surrealism. The donation of his works by his family in 1967 led to the founding of the museum. In viewing, comparing not only the subjects but also how the treatment of outlines and backgrounds changes makes it easier to grasp the varied expression attempted in his short life.
