About this place
Banshu Miki Uchihamono is cutlery produced in Miki, Hyogo Prefecture. On April 8, 1996, it was designated a traditional craft by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (then the Ministry of International Trade and Industry). The local cooperative is the Miki Industrial Cooperative. The Harima region, as seen in the Harima no Kuni Fudoki, is a place associated with Amenomahitotsu no Mikoto, god of blacksmiths, and from ancient times Yamato blacksmiths, with him as ancestral deity, flourished.
