About this place
Hitachi City Local History Museum is a museum in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture. Every Wednesday it holds a course called "Learning with the Director," with an outside lecturer invited. The capacity is 60 people, and the fee is 100 yen for materials. Courses are also held irregularly. From 2004 it opened the "Family Roots Research Consultation Room." In this program the director, Shida Junichi, who specialized in ancient and medieval clans and local powerful families, personally advised citizens on researching their ancestors and family lines, and it is said there were many applicants.
