About this place
Kaga Mizuhiki is a traditional craft of Kanazawa (Kaga), Ishikawa Prefecture. Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping culture consisting of the basic elements of "wrapping" a gift in flat-folded washi paper, "tying" it with paper cord, and "writing" the reason for the gift. Around 1915 (Taisho 4), Tsuda Sokichi (the first Kaga Mizuhiki master) of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture devised a method of wrapping washi paper in a soft, three-dimensional form.
