About this place
Nagamachi Samurai Residence District is a tourist spot in Nagamachi, Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. Samurai residences of upper- and middle-class retainers of the Kaga Domain stand in a row. Earthen walls and stone-paved lanes continue, letting visitors enjoy the atmosphere of the feudal era. In winter, straw mats (komo-kake) are hung to protect the earthen walls from snow and frost. It is located on the west side of Korinbo, the downtown area of Kanazawa.
