About this place
Koko Fukazawa (23 March 1903 - 25 March 1993) was a Japanese Western-style painter from Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. Her husband, Shozo Fukazawa, was also a Western-style painter and children's book illustrator. Before and after the war she did bookbinding designs for books by Tatsuo Hori, Michizo Tachihara and others, and also illustrated many children's stories. While continuing to paint, the Fukazawas were also devoted to children's education through teaching painting.
