What people have long eaten in this place. We collect the dishes themselves, not restaurants.
Wheat flour dough kneaded with water and rested is torn by hand and simmered in dashi with chicken, daikon, carrot, burdock and shiitake, seasoned with salt and soy sauce.

Dumplings of wheat flour dough filled with walnuts and brown sugar are simmered with vegetables and grilled tofu in dashi of dried sardines and kombu, and seasoned with soy sauce.

Batter of wheat flour mixed with brown sugar, baking soda and vinegar is poured into a mold, topped with walnuts and sesame and steamed for about thirty minutes.

Rice flour is kneaded with water to which sugar and soy sauce have been added, sesame is mixed in, brown sugar and walnuts are wrapped inside, and the dough is shaped into a bale form and steamed.

A food culture of pounded mochi, eaten coated with red bean paste, zunda, sesame, walnut or natto, or served in soup. At ceremonial occasions it is served as a formal mochi honzen meal following set etiquette.

Buckwheat flour and wheat flour are kneaded with water, rolled thin and cut into triangles, then simmered with daikon and tofu in kombu dashi and eaten dipped in garlic miso.

Shredded daikon, carrot, burdock, shiitake and grilled tofu are simmered in soy-sauce-flavored dashi, grilled square mochi is added, and it is eaten dipped in a sauce of ground walnuts with sugar and salt.

Non-glutinous rice flour is kneaded with boiling water and rolled into balls, skewered and flattened, steamed and then grilled, and brushed with a soy sauce glaze containing ground walnuts.

Cartilage from a salmon's head is sliced thin, salted and soaked in vinegar, then combined with shredded daikon and carrot and seasoned with vinegar, sugar and salt.

Firm cotton tofu is cut into rectangles and skewered, grilled on both sides over charcoal, spread with miso mixed with grated garlic and grilled again.

Pacific saury is ground in a mortar, mixed with miso and egg and formed into balls, then simmered with daikon, carrot, tofu and green onion.

Chewy noodles made from wheat flour and potato starch are eaten in a chilled seasoned soup simmered from beef and chicken. The spiciness of kimchi is added.

Hot boiled noodles are topped with meat miso, served with cucumber and green onion and mixed before eating. Garlic, ginger, vinegar and chili oil are used to adjust the flavor.

The Konjikido is a National Treasure, gilded inside and out. The bodies of four generations of the Northern Fujiwara still lie there. Late Heian Mutsu produced gold, and that wealth built a cultural world apart from the capital.
