About this place
Nambu ironware is ironware made by member companies of the Iwate Prefecture Nambu Ironware Cooperative Association Federation. There are 74 business establishments with 730 workers (estimated), and annual production is about 9.2 billion yen. On 17 February 1975 it was designated a Traditional Craft by the Minister of International Trade and Industry (now the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry). As of fiscal 2021 (Reiwa 3), 72 people were certified and registered as Traditional Craftsmen. It is also registered as a regional collective trademark.
