About this place
Doi Kachu is one of the Japan Scenic Byways in Aki, Kochi Prefecture; here "byway" does not mean a particular road, but an effort to improve scenery, revitalise the region and promote tourism by making use of the nature and culture unique to the area. Its aim is to create and rediscover a walking route centred on traditional samurai residences where visitors can experience history and culture.
