About this place
Hirome Market is a collective food-stall village with more than 50 shops at the corner where Obiyamachi 2-chome and Ohashi-dori cross in Kochi. The management is Hirome Company Ltd., and it is operated jointly with the tenants' association. The originator was the then chairman of the Obiyamachi 2-chome Shopping Street Promotion Association, who put forward a "food theme park concept" as a measure to improve foot traffic on the shopping street in the economic downturn.
