Overview
Filled-in moats became roads, so the castle town's skeleton survives as the modern street plan.
About this place
Harimaya Bridge is a road bridge in Harimayacho 1-chome, Kochi, Kochi Prefecture, a girder bridge about 20 m long. Its common name is often written in hiragana as Harimaya-bashi. National Route 32 branch line and the Tosaden Traffic Ekimae Line pass over it. It was once a bridge over the Horikawa canal that flowed through Kochi, but most of the Horikawa, except the downstream part, was filled in during the 1960s, and it is now developed as Harimaya Bridge Park.
