Giverny recreated in a mountain valley with the foundation's blessing - and here the blue water lilies Monet never got actually bloom.
About this place
Kitagawa Village "Monet's Garden" Marmottan is a garden of 2 hectares at Nomo, Kitagawa, Aki District, Kochi Prefecture. Based on the "Water Lilies" series painted by the French painter Claude Monet, it has a pond with floating water lilies. Apart from Monet's garden at Giverny, where he painted "Water Lilies," it is the only garden in the world officially permitted to bear the name "Monet" by the Claude Monet Foundation "Academie des Beaux-Arts," which manages that garden.
