About this place
The Sendai Literature Museum is a municipal literature museum and social education facility of Sendai in Kitane, Aoba Ward, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. It opened in 1999. It collects and exhibits materials on modern literature connected with Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai, beginning with Hisashi Inoue, who served as its first director for eight years. It also sometimes hosts theatre performances of literary works. Until 2009, the Banshui Prize literary award was presented here.
