Kuroshima Cathedral is a church and cathedral of the Christian Catholic Diocese of Nagasaki on Kuroshima in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture. Its formal name is Kuroshima Church, and it is also known as the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. It is designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Kuroshima, the largest island of the Kujukushima islands, about 10 km west of the Sasebo mainland, was home to many Hidden Christians who moved there to escape persecution in the Edo period.
