About this place
The Tabira Church is a church and cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Nagasaki in Kotedamen, Tabira-cho, Hirado, Nagasaki Prefecture. Its official name is Catholic Tabira Church, and it is also called Setoyama Church after its location. It is designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. From the red-brick church on the open hill in the western part of Tabira-cho, Hirado, the Hirado Strait and the Hirado Ohashi Bridge across it can be seen, and it is often used as a subject for photographs and paintings.
