About this place
The Shuri Kinjo-cho Stone-Paved Road is an old stone-paved road in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture. Located on the southern slope of Shuri Castle Park, it is in Kinjo-cho, a castle town of the Ryukyu Kingdom that flourished from the 14th to the 19th century. It is part of the Madama-michi, an official road 4 km long and 10 km in total length running from Shuri Castle to Madama Bridge over the Kokuba River, and its construction began around 1522, during the reign of King Sho Shin of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
