About this place
Shizuoka Prefecture Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre is a museum in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is a base facility for the protection, preservation and development of Mount Fuji, which was inscribed as a World Heritage Site, and also has an academic research function. Its exterior is characterized by an inverted Mount Fuji made of a wooden lattice of prefectural cypress, designed so that when reflected in the front water basin, fed by spring water from the foot of Mount Fuji, it looks like a "true Fuji." A torii gate stands in the basin, in cooperation with Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha.
