About this place
Tokaikan is a cultural facility at 12-10 Higashimatsubaracho, Ito, Shizuoka Prefecture. The building is an Ito City Designated Tangible Cultural Property. From 1928 (Showa 3) to 1997 (Heisei 9) it operated as the hot spring inn "Tokaikan." Afterward the building was donated to Ito, and the cultural facility "Tokaikan" opened in 2001 (Heisei 13). In 1928 (Showa 3), the hot spring inn Tokaikan was founded by Inaba Yasutaro, who ran a timber business in Ito Town, Kamo District.
