About this place
Nashi (pear) is a plant of the genus Pyrus in the rose family, or its fruit. As a crop group, it is a fruit tree (fruit) classed among the pome fruits (pome), in which the enlarged receptacle is eaten. The main types are three, the Japanese pear (Pyrus pyrifolia var. culta), the Chinese pear (P. bretschneideri) and the European pear (P. communis), which are grown throughout the world for food.
