About this place
Shunan City Museum of Art and History is an art and history museum in Shunan, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It opened on September 4, 1995. Together with the adjoining Shunan City Cultural Hall and others, it forms Shunan's cultural zone. Centered on works by the photographer Hayashi Tadahiko, a native of Shunan (formerly Tokuyama), it exhibits works and materials on photography, art and history. It is operated by the Shunan City Cultural Promotion Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation, and the secretariat of the Hayashi Tadahiko Award, established by the foundation in 1991, is also located in the museum.
