About this place
Miyamoto Tsuneichi (August 1, 1907 - January 30, 1981) was a Japanese folklorist, rural leader and social educator. Born on Yashirojima (Suo-Oshima), Yamaguchi Prefecture. Graduated from the advanced course in geography at Osaka Prefectural Tennoji Normal School (now Osaka Kyoiku University). He read Yanagita Kunio and resolved to become a student of folklore. Afterward, invited by Shibusawa Keizo, he joined the Attic Museum and began full-fledged folklore research.
