Overview
Shigeru Ban hung a paper-covered inverted cone over water, so its reflection becomes the mountain.
About this place
The Yamanashi Prefectural Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre is a guidance facility on the Yamanashi side, prompted by the inscription of Mount Fuji as a World Heritage Site in 2013 as "Fujisan, Sacred Place and Source of Artistic Inspiration." It opened on 22 June 2016, exactly three years after the day Mount Fuji's World Heritage inscription was decided, with a new South Building constructed next to the existing Yamanashi Prefectural Fuji Visitor Center in Fujikawaguchiko (after renovation: North Building, free admission).
