About this place
Kiyosato Highland is a plateau spreading across Takane, Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is famous as a tourist area on the southeastern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains. Kiyosato takes its name from Kiyosato Village, formed in 1875 by the merger of Asakawa Village and Kashiyama Village; the large-area name was Kashiyama, but it was changed to "Kiyosato" in 1964. "Kiyosato Highland" was the name of a tourist area, but it is now the official place name Kiyosato, Takane, Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture.
