About this place
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is a shrine in Kamiyoshida, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture. Its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine, and it is now a Beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. It is the starting point of the Yoshida route for climbing Mount Fuji, and is registered as a World Cultural Heritage site as part of the "Fujisan area," one of the component assets of "Fujisan, Sacred Place and Source of Artistic Inspiration."
