About this place
Nirasaki Omura Art Museum is an art museum in Nirasaki, Yamanashi Prefecture. Omura Satoshi, an organic chemist from the city and honorary chairman of Joshibi University of Art and Design, built it at his own expense near his birthplace to open to the public the works and collections he gathered over his lifetime, and it opened in 2007. In 2008 the facility, including the works, was donated to Nirasaki. Omura continues to serve as director.
