About this place
Okunomatsu Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a sake brewery in Fukushima Prefecture that makes seishu (refined sake). It has its head office in Nihonmatsu, with a factory at the head office and another in the suburbs. Besides sake, it also brews sparkling sake, premium shochu and more. It grew its business by developing sales channels in convenience stores. The company logo Okunomatsu was written in calligraphy by the actor Morishige Hisaya. In 2004 (Heisei 16), six of its buildings were registered as nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
