About this place
Shoda Shoyu Co., Ltd. is an old-established soy sauce maker in Sakaemachi, Tatebayashi, Gunma Prefecture. Shoda Bun'emon III, who regarded the rice-dealing trade as speculative, was encouraged to go into soy sauce brewing by Mogi Fusagoro II of Nodamachi, Higashikatsushika District, Chiba Prefecture (now Noda), and founded the soy sauce brewing business. The Shoda Memorial Hall in Tatebayashi holds a management guide on soy sauce brewing given to him by Mogi Fusagoro II. The shop name is Kikko Sho. The main branch of the family of Empress Emerita Michiko is the founding family.
