About this place
Hirose Paper Mfg. Co., Ltd. (HIROSE PAPER MFG. CO., LTD) is a Japanese papermaking company with its head office in Tosa, Kochi Prefecture. Hirose Paper was established in 1958 by its founder, Hirose Shinji. In joint research with the polymer chemistry laboratory of Kyoto University, it developed functional paper (wet-laid nonwoven fabric) using vinylon, Japan's first synthetic fiber. It has continued to develop the technology and now makes products mainly for industrial uses, such as battery separators and filters.
