About this place
Kameizumi Shuzo is a sake-brewing company in Tosa, Kochi Prefecture. It is known for sake made with the sake yeast CEL-24, developed at the Kochi Prefectural Industrial Technology Center. Founded in 1897 (Meiji 30), it began as Fumoto Sakaten when eleven people came together under the motto "let's make the sake we drink ourselves." The name Kameizumi means "spring of ten thousand years," and was given because it used a spring on the Sukumo Kaido that never dried up, even in droughts, as its brewing water.
