Overview
Bunmeido in Nagasaki. It makes castella.
About this place
Bunmeido is a long-established maker and seller of castella and Japanese sweets. It was founded in Nagasaki in 1900 (Meiji 33) by Nakagawa Yasugoro, and his younger brother Miyazaki Jinzaemon brought it to Tokyo, where it became a nationally known name through manufacturing innovation and novel sales and advertising. After the war, the regional branches were separated from the Nagasaki head store in terms of management, so several companies exist with “Bunmeido” in their names.
