About this place
Arita Museum of Ceramics is a town-run museum specializing in ceramics in Arita, Nishimatsuura District, Saga Prefecture. It opened on May 1, 1954, after renovation of a two-story stone pottery warehouse built in the early Meiji period. At the beginning it did not stop at collecting, preserving and exhibiting ceramics, but also introduced art history and industrial history through the collection, organization and study of materials on ceramics manufacturing.
