About this place
Muraoka Sohonpo Co., Ltd. is a maker and seller of yokan and Japanese sweets with its head store in Ogi, Saga Prefecture. Founded in 1899 (Meiji 32), it is known for "Ogi Yokan and Special Cut Yokan," nerikan yokan made by a traditional method from the Edo period. In 1899 (Meiji 32) it was founded by buying a set of yokan-making tools from Jinnai Takuichi of Nagasaki. The name "Ogi Yokan" is said to have been first used by Muraoka Yasukichi, the second president.
