About this place
Fukuchiyo Shuzo is a sake maker in Kashima, Saga Prefecture. It is a small brewery producing around 400 koku a year, but in 2011 it won the top prize "Champion Sake" at the International Wine Challenge and gained nationwide recognition. Its main brand is "Nabeshima." Founded at the end of the Taisho era. Its original company name was "Seiju," but taking the opportunity of wartime corporate consolidation and postwar recovery, it was renamed "Fukuchiyo" with the wish "may it prosper for a thousand generations and bring good fortune."
