About this place
Hitachi Kasado Works is one of Hitachi, Ltd.'s manufacturing sites, located in Higashitoyoi, Kudamatsu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is the main base of the Railway Business Unit (an in-house company). It was established on 1 May 1921 (Taisho 10) as Hitachi's Kasado Factory. The site covers 52 hectares (ha), and it had about 1,500 employees (as of the end of March 2021).
