About this place
Sasaichi Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a sake maker in Otsuki, Yamanashi Prefecture. It was founded on 3 November 1919 (Taisho 8) by Amano Hisashi, who had been the manager of Tanabe Shuzo. Together with his cousin, Amano bought the brewing rights and brewery of Sasago Shuzo, became independent and founded Yamanashi Shuzo. After the war Yamanashi Shuzo was dissolved and Sasaichi Shuzo was founded. It was incorporated as a joint-stock company in 1951 (Showa 26) and continues to this day. Besides sake, it also makes shochu, wine and fruit liqueurs.
