About this place
Oagata Shrine is a shrine in Inuyama, Aichi. Its former ranks are Engishiki-listed shrine (Myojin Taisha), Ninomiya of Owari Province, former Kokuhei Chusha and Beppyo Shrine. It is sometimes written "Oagata Shrine" in modern characters (the reading is the same). According to the shrine's tradition, "in the 27th year of Emperor Suinin, it was moved from the summit of Mount Honguu to its present site". November 11, Jowa 14 (847): from no rank to Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade (Shoku Nihon Koki) - written "Oagata Tenjin"
