Sanage Shrine is a shrine in Toyota, Aichi. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine, the Sannomiya of Mikawa Province, and its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine. It stands at the foot of Mount Sanage. Emperor Keiko - the 12th emperor. Father of Prince Ousu Emperor Suinin - the 11th emperor. Grandfather of Prince Ousu Note: However, Prince Ousu was made the principal deity only from the early modern period; before that there were various theories, including Sarutahiko no Mikoto, Kibitsuhiko, Kiirihiko no Mikoto, Saeki no Mikoto, Hohonage no Kami and Otomo no Takehi no Mikoto. It seems originally to have enshrined the deity of Mount Sanage.
