About this place
Shingu Kumano Shrine (Shingu Kumano Jinja) is a shrine in Shingu, Keitokumachi, Kitakata, Fukushima. Although it is called 'Shingu', it enshrines the three Kumano shrines: Hongu, Shingu and Nachi. Its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine. It is famous for its worship hall, known as the Kumano Shrine Nagatoko, which is designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Today, besides the Nagatoko, the main hall of the three Kumano shrines, the Monju Hall and the Kannon Hall remain.
