About this place
Suzumigaoka Hachiman Shrine is a shrine in Soma, Fukushima. Its former shrine rank was village-district shrine (gosha). Its name as a religious corporation is "Yawata Shrine". It enshrines Honda Wake no Mikoto (Emperor Ojin), Tarashinakahiko no Mikoto (Emperor Chuai) and Okinaga Tarashihime no Mikoto (Empress Jingu). According to the shrine's tradition, an old small shrine called "Wakamiya Hachiman", built in the Daido era, stood at the present site.
