About this place
Sakisaki Shrine is a shrine in Saginomiya, Annaka, Gunma. Its former shrine rank was village shrine. It is revered as a deity of sericulture, and it used to be said that silkworms would thrive if you bought them at the market held in connection with the spring festival. There is a tradition that it is the original site of Ichinomiya Nukisaki Shrine. The site is said to be the remains of a camp set up in Kozuke Province by Futsunushi no Kami, who sallied out in pursuit of Takeminakata no Kami, who had fled to Suwa in Shinano Province at the time of the transfer of the land. It is said that in February of the first year of Emperor Ankan (531?), three thunder-axe stones appeared, and Futsunushi no Kami was invited to Isobe-go from Katori Jingu in Shimosa Province.
