About this place
Ikaho Shrine is a shrine in Shibukawa, Gunma. It is the shrine that protects Ikaho Onsen. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine (Myojin Taisha), and its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine and village-district shrine. It is regarded as the Sannomiya of Kozuke Province. It is also written Ikaho Shrine with different characters. It is said that Sannomiya Shrine (Okubo, Yoshioka, Kita-Gunma District) was once the main shrine. Its present principal deities are two: Onamuchi no Mikoto and Sukunabikona no Mikoto, deities of hot springs and medicine.
