About this place
Nunakuma Shrine is a shrine in Atochi, Tomocho, Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is a shrine listed in the Engishiki; its former shrine rank was Kokuhei Shosha (national small shrine), and it is now a Beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. Alongside the alternative name 'Tomo Giongu', it is popularly called 'Gion-san' and 'Ogyon-san'. The enshrined deities are the following two. Oowatatsumi no Mikoto - the deity of the former Watamori Shrine. Susanoo no Mikoto - the deity of the former Tomo Giongu.
