About this place
Myojoji is a Nichiren-sect temple in Takiyamachi, Hakui, Ishikawa. Its mountain name is Kin'eizan. Its founder was Nichizo, a disciple of Nichiren's disciple. It is the Hokuriku head temple of the Nichiren sect and has the largest temple complex in Noto. Its main hall, five-story pagoda, founder's hall, sutra hall and other buildings are designated Important Cultural Properties of Japan. It has five subtemples (Gyokujuji, Zenjuji, Daikyoji, Enyuji and Hongakuji).
