About this place
Tsuma Shrine is a shrine in Saito, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is a shrine listed in the Engishiki, a candidate for the Soja of Hyuga Province and a candidate for the Ninomiya of Hyuga Province. Its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine. It is affectionately known as 'Saiman-sama' (see below). For the shrine name 'Tsuma', there has long been a theory that it should be written with other characters. In that case, there is a theory that it is read 'Saiman' as well as 'Tsuma'. Locally the name 'Osen-sama', a corruption of 'Saiman', remains in use. Konohanasakuyahime no Mikoto
