About this place
Dozaki Cathedral (Dozaki Tenshudo) is a Christian (Catholic) sanctuary on Fukue Island, Goto, Nagasaki Prefecture. It was the first sanctuary built in the Goto Islands after the Edo-period ban on Christianity was lifted, was designated a Nagasaki Prefecture Tangible Cultural Property in 1974 (Showa 49) under the name Dozaki Church, and is now used as the Dozaki Cathedral Christian Museum.
