About this place
Tabira Cathedral (Tabira Tenshudo) is a church and sanctuary of the Catholic Diocese of Nagasaki in Kotedamen, Tabira-cho, Hirado, Nagasaki Prefecture. Its official name is Catholic Tabira Church, and it is also called Setoyama Cathedral after its location. It is designated an Important Cultural Property. From the red-brick church standing on an open hill in the western part of Tabira-cho, Hirado, you can see the Hirado Strait and the Hirado Bridge spanning it, and the view is often used as a subject for photographs and paintings.
