Overview
A limestone cave lies behind the hall, and the cave itself is the object of worship. It takes the form of a shrine, but what is inside is the faith of the utaki.
About this place
Futenmagu is a shrine in Futenma, Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture. It is also the only shrine in Ginowan. Its current official name is Futenmagu, but it is often written under its old name, also read Futenmagu. Another name is Futenma Gongen. It is commonly called Futenma Jingu. It is one of the Ryukyu Hachisha (the Eight Shrines of the Ryukyus). It enshrines the ancient Ryukyuan Shinto deity and Kumano Gongen.
