It originally stood at Naha port. One of the eight shrines of Ryukyu.
About this place
Okinogu is a shrine in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture. It is one of the Eight Ryukyu Shrines, but was not given a rank under the modern shrine ranking system and is an independent shrine not belonging to the Association of Shinto Shrines (unranked shrine). It is located in the eastern part of Onoyama Park. It enshrines Tenjukumeryuguo Onkami (Amaterasu Omikami), Tenryu Oonkami, Amekushin Otomeo Onkami and the three Kumano deities (Izanami no Mikoto, Hayatama no Mikoto and Kotosakao no Mikoto).
